Over the course of the last year, we devoted ourselves to becoming a manufacturing provider of – not one, but – TWO new delivery system solutions for our customers. One of these new manufacturing services, we will discuss in an upcoming blog, but the other we are proud to announce is Nasal Gel Manuafcturing services. The better part of Q3 and Q4 2022 were spent setting up our facilities to accommodate this new line, and we are now a one-stop shop for formulation, dispensing, filling, and labeling.
We have the newest equipment available and the best talent ready to use it. We have been excited to find that our team has onboarded the new technology well and projects are going a lot quicker on the new machine than we had anticipated – We have been able to fill anywhere from 18,000 to 20,000 units in less than an eight hour day!
We are utilizing a custom unit for bottle filling with an Aptar pump delivery system and an attached labeler unit, both from TurboFil Packaging Machines, LLC. This is an extremely advanced piece of machinery that was tailor-made for Excite Pharma’s clients, to meet the demands we know they have. This equipment fills the bottles, applies the pumps, and labels them – all within the same set of automated processes. This makes it much more reliable and consistent than, say, a manual-fill process, which we have to conduct the process in phases.
So how do you know if nasal gel manufacturing is the right solution for your project?
Nasal Gel dose delivery offers proven performance and unique characteristics that make it a perfect choice for certain products and drugs that need to quickly enter the circulatory system. This rapid onset delivery route makes the nasal spray ideal for replacement of traditional inhalation or injection systems as it does not require sterility. It is designed to precisely and immediately deliver formulated nasal drug products every single time. Many existing treatments for these types of conditions were once limited to invasive injectable needle-based delivery systems or inhalation systems, which require sterility during manufacturing production and filling which greatly increases the cost. So this is a non-sterile manufacturing route which is less invasive and more cost effective.
Because of the nature of the nasal gel delivery, the process requires less actual formula per dosage, meaning your API is much more effective, allowing your product to go farther. And just like with our other services, Excite offers small-batch manufacturing for our customers while most of our competitors just won’t. They prefer large or even mega-sized batch agreements before even initiating a project, whereas we will work with clients who need as little as 10,000 units.

While Nasal Gel is an emerging technology, Excite is confident in the potential this holds for our customers. We have never been an organization to shy away from new technology if there is a solid case to be made for it. So after researching it thoroughly internally and discussing possibilities with some of our closest clients, Excite took the time needed and made the investments necessary to set ourselves up as a leading provider of nasal gel manufacturing services. We had custom equipment made for us, and spent time working directly with the manufacturer on location to be certain we were familiar with every inch of the technology, and what it could do. We can now offer services that are on par with some of the biggest names in the industry – but as opposed to some of those names… we are willing to take small batch products.
